Megan once told me back in college that she wanted the job of naming the OPI nail colors. The names of their different colors and shades are SO CLEVER – names such as Red My Fortune, Cajun Shrimp, and She’s A Bad Muffuletta to name a few. One of my favorites is My Chihuahua Bites! Oh so clever, and Stampin’ Up is right up there with the naming of colors. Looking for some screen time chuckles? Go to OPI’s site and you can check out all of the interesting name choices.
Back when I first started stamping, Pool Boy noticed many of the Stampin’ Up names were named after foods, and of course, with alliteration. Names such as Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery, Creamy Carmel, etc. He thought the whole food thing was a hook for women shoppers!
Now whether it’s just a coincidence, or if Stampin’ Up has decided to lean more towards a healthier lifestyle, most of the names are not centered around food. In fact, just ONE of our new In Colors are food related – darn!
Comparing Timid Tiger To The Orange Shades!
I really like the whole orange spectrum thing that Stampin’ Up has going by introducing Timid Tiger. And disregard the whole Petal Pink thing cause that color is as peachy pink as it can get! Monocromatic cards with these colors will be fun!
Strawberry Slush Anyone???
Again, another super grouping of pink shades heading our way with the addition of Strawberry Slush!!! Strawberry Slush will work with ALL of these shades – yes, even Poppy Parade! – so it will be fun pairing it with our favorite colors.
Comparing Cloud Cover With The Blue Shades!
Cloud Cover is an interesting mix with blues, grays, and abit of green so it works with several different shades. It looks great with all of the shades above EXCEPT Pool Party but the photo shows you how different it looks in comparison.
Final Thoughts….
