Good morning everyone!! Pool Boy and I are relaxing in Destin, FL this week and the weather is beautiful! Low 80’s everyday with little rain expected until the weekend when we head home. So far the only difficult decision we made was where to have dinner! Our friends are joining us tomorrow, then the decisions double – do we go to the beach or pool, and where to eat dinner! lol
Did you know that the month of April was Volunteer Month? And specifically, last week was National Volunteer Week. This week I want to focus on ways that our papercrafting hobby can be used by volunteering and supporting others in our community at the same time. Today’s project are preparing thank you cards as part of a service project for our area hospital/nursing home health care workers – National Healthcare Week is coming in May!!!
The Beautiful Thank You Kindly Kit!

If you’ve yet to check out this kit, do so because it’s beautiful! From the linen parchment texture of the card stock, the detailed gold embossed lines on the floral images, and the classic gold detail on the envelopes, these cards are very easy to assemble – with no stamping!!! I gathered 10 of the kits to assemble here in Destin, and when I arrive home there will be another dozen kits waiting for me. These kits are perfect to take on vacation when you think you want to craft! And, I’ll be reaching out to my crafting friends for volunteers to finish the remaining kits!

I’m an assembly line crafter when it comes to making multiple cards the same! First step for me is to open ALL of my kits, punch out the laser diecuts, and pitch the packaging/trash remaining. Yes, that left me with over 300 pieces that needed tear and tape added to the back for assembly. I spent an hour opening/punching the pieces, then another hour later in the day adding the tear and tape. All while listening to an audio book on my airpods. Nothing like multi-tasking!!!
Later today I’ll take another hour to assemble these cards – while listening to the next couple of chapters! – and in no time 72 cards are completely ready to go except for the message inside for our health care workers!
This week I’ll be sharing ways my crafting friends volunteer and lift others up, so I hope it will give you ideas how you can do the same!! Our papercrafting hobby is more than simply making cards – it’s reaching out to others with caring hearts, using our talents to bring joy to others, and filling our creative hearts all at the same time.
To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…. in this we make a difference
