Am I the only one who has just discovered what “Kintsugi” is????? Last night Pam shared a beautiful card with the Kintsugi Suite from page 58 of the Annual Catalog, and although I have the suite in my craft room I’ve yet to play with it. Had NO IDEA what Kintsugi is, and of course had no idea how to even pronounce it!!!
So with the help of Siri and Google, here’s the definition of Kintsugi: It is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted with gold or silver. It’s not just a repair technique, but also a philosophy that embraces flaws and imperfections, viewing them as part of an object’s history and making it more beautiful and resilient.
Did you catch the whole “philosophy that embraces flaws and imperfections” thing???? Hello, that’s right up a stamper’s alley!!! Sometimes our papers are not perfectly centered or our stamps perfectly even, but it’s OK to embrace the flaws!!! LOL.

Pam created this card on our FB group page Stamp. Ink. Paper – Creating with Pam and Lola last night, starting first with adding the white craft ink to the embossed panel. I’m not good with the white craft ink at all – pretty sure I’ve bought it at least 2 times only to try it, not like it, and pitch it. BUT this card makes me want to give it another try – cause, you know the whole “third try’s the charm thing” might work!
Adding the gold vein foil piece on the large vessel truly adds to the beauty of it. In fact, the cup on the right seems bland without being broken then improved with the gold veining!
Want to see how Pam created this card, and join our crafting group???? There is always room for more, so simply click on the link below and request to join. We began this group during the spring of Covid, simply to stay connected with our crafting friends, only to have grown by leaps and bounds to most every state and even international as well. We are FAR FROM perfect so if you expect perfection, find someone else to follow. BUT we choose to embrace the Kintsugi way fo videoing – embrace the flaws and imperfections!!! LOL

Crafting For A Cause Feeds Our Souls!
I love when we can use our papercrafting talents to help others and am always searching for ways to do so. I’ve just recently written a grant to create get well cards for the Children’s Hospital in Columbia, MO and our kits are great ways to help others, AND bring friends together to craft for the cause.
So, I was a bit put out with Pool Boy when I started writing this post, but I feel so much better after doing so. I’m using the technique of Kintsugi and “embracing his flaws and imperfections” to get over being irked with him.
I’m pretty sure he embraced the whole “flaws and imperfections” Kintsugi technique with me YEARS AGO!
Until next time, have a great day doing whatever makes you happy, and God Bless!!!!
