After being gone for the week. it felt so good to sleep in our own bed Friday night. First thing Saturday I headed to the craft room though to design a card for a special occasion. I needed a wedding card – NOT something I need very often now! There comes a time when weddings, babies, and graduation invitations seem to slow down. We are in that age where most of our kids’ friends are long graduated, married, and had children, and grandchildren too young. We planned our Branson trip so we would be home to attend Anna’s and Brock’s wedding and it was simply wonderful.
Anna’s parents are dear friends from our church family, and in fact we saw Anna Grace in person at the hospital the day after she was born. Her father Eric was a tenor in my church choir (Pool Boy sat in the tenor section as well, and we referred to them as the “Peanut Gallery”.) Anna’s mother Carol and I go back even farther since she was in 6th grade my first year teaching at Shelby County, and she has never forgiven me for putting her in General Music instead of Choir.

In all of the invitations, the showers, etc. I saw no color combos for the wedding other than white and black. Taking a stab that those were the colors, I turned to a retired DSP that I had several sheets of – the Natural Sweetness DSP with the gold foil accents. The plaid paper comes from the Regal Distressed Patterns currently available, and the greeting from the stamp set Lifetime Of Love.

I used the 3 x 4 inch flip flaps found in the annual catalog to use for the gift holder! Pool Boy and I prefer to give money/gift card/checks to allow the couple to use as needed, so I simply added a pocket to the inside of the flip flap to tuck the gift in place. With the tie of a ribbon bow, the card is finished and I chose well – colors were black and white. Simply stunning.

The picture above is Anna Grace, her mother Carol, and her grandmother standing beside their wedding gowns. Isn’t this simply a wonderful idea???? Over the years we have celebrated at Anna’s baptism, her confirmation, her graduation, and now this wonderful day for her and Brock, as well as their families.
I’m hoping Carol has finally forgiven me about that General Music thing maybe. Until next time, have a great day crafting, creating, and God Bless!
