We’ve had a busy two days of sessions for Back Stage! We’ve heard from demonstrators from all over the world, as well as motivational speaker, the Stampin’ Up corporate team, and our own CEO Sara Douglass. Most of us have scribbled pages of notes, written action plans, and set goals for the upcoming year.
All of that is well and good for our Stampin’ Up business, but Stampin’ Up is not simply crafting products. It is the people and the connections that we make among the staff and fellow demonstrators that makes events such as this so important and meaningful. We will take home important tips and ideas, but more importantly we will take home connections that we have forged with others.
Those connections are what makes this company so very special and unique. It’s the community of people who gather together, lift each other up, and support each other. Those friendships and connections that grow stronger from event to event, year to year. These were just a few of the gals I reconnected with during the past two days. Cindy and I go back to last spring in Raleigh, Mary and I along with our husbands had dinner together on the Norway trip, and I met Selene and Carol several years ago through events hosted by Ronda Wade.
And then there are the gals who you hang with during these events. Bonnie, Karin and I go back to an event in Michigan, I met Kris on the Norway trip, and I met Tina in Mexico. I’m so very thankful for Stampin’ Up which allowed me to connect with all of these ladies.
And you know what? It’s because of Stampin’ Up and papercrafting in my home community and facebook that I’ve met new friends, reconnected with former friends from years ago, and forged treasured friendships with people I never knew.
Just a company that sells products like stamps, ink, and paper? Far from it! Today thru Sunday I will be gathering with about 50 others in Saint George, Utah to strengthen those friendships, meet new friends, and create memories. It’s the people that make Stampin’ Up so very special!
