The Christmas card session took most of yesterday, but the end is in sight. I’ve about a dozen left to write, then done!!! Some were delivered last night in person at church, the rest will be heading to the Post Office later this morning and that task is off the Christmas prep list.

AND I put one of my water painters to good use!!!! No need to lick those 100+ envelopes – I grabbed the wide tipped water painter and in no time those envelopes were sealed. Anyone else used the water painter brushes for this purpose??

Once I was finally able to return to the craft room I grabbed the Lovely and Beautiful suite products to play with. I needed 4-5 cards to share with our accountability group, and this card I simply played with the dies.
Doesn’t this flower have the look of a hibiscus?? The entire flower was created with the dies by layering first on a solid floral base. Using a blending brush I added color in the center of the dies before popping in the stamen die for the center. To add contrast to the leaves I used first Old Olive card stock, then used the lighter side of the Old Olive two toned card stock for the detailed veins.
For the greeting I used the Banner Saying stamp set, which is quickly becoming my go-to stamp set for greetings. I love the variety, the fonts, and the ease of using this stamp set, then turning to the coordinating punch – quick and easy!
Final Thoughts….
Pool Boy will be heading to pick up his momma tomorrow morning for our early Christmas with the family. Today and tomorrow’s work is wrapping packages and stuffing stockings. I discovered a couple of years ago that I actually enjoyed having our family Christmas celebration earlier or later than Dec. 24 or Dec. 25. We are so busy rushing to get everything ready it’s easy to forget the reason why we celebrate Christmas. Christmas Eve service is much more peaceful when you aren’t stressing over whether you remembered to turn on the oven for the dinner after the service!
Just enjoy the quiet, the peace, the gentleness of remembering a baby who arrived in a lowly stable. That’s what it’s all about.
Until next time, have a great day getting ready for your Christmas celebrations, get those cards in the mail, and God Bless.
