Today’s our final day to get ready for Christmas with the family. Packages are ALMOST wrapped – down to 4 so that’s close! – and Pool Boy is on his way to pick up his mom. She’ll be with us until the 26th. Megan’s family will be here tonight after 8pm, and Evan’s family will zip over a couple of times tomorrow for brunch and packages, then head back to their house for the boys’ naps before heading back over for dinner. It’s nice to have them living so close.
By mid afternoon Sunday, everyone will be heading back home and we have several quiet, peaceful days before Christmas Eve and Christmas. I’m looking forward to some crafting and preparing for the upcoming Spring Catalog launch and January classes, and if I was smart I’d take a day to finalize paperwork and get a head start on taxes.
I AM smart, but I’m ALSO a procrastinator when it comes to tax crap, so pretty sure that isn’t going to happen!!
Last night Pam and I were able to go live on our group page Stamp. Ink. Paper – Creating With Pam And Lola. It seems like forever since we were able to go live, what with family commitments, sickness, and weather. We decided to simply have a play night with some old and new product supplies.

Pam pulled out her memory and more card packs to create some simple yet beautiful cards for any occasion. I know I tend to forget these card packs, but they truly are perfect for any easy crafting session, and you can make multiple cards with just a limited amount of product. These cards are perfect to package and give as a hostess gift, a teacher or co-worker’s gift, or just a simple birthday gift for friends. Wouldn’t these cards look perfect in a small basket with a 4 pack of annuals and some garden gloves???

I leaned toward the Spring mini catalog for my product. I’ve been busy creating with the Lovely and Beautiful Suite and specifically the floral dies. I took white card stock, then used the blending brushes to add swaths of color – “swaths” isn’t a word I use often! – with Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, and Petal Pink. With layering the dies I get this gorgeous hibiscus bloom!

For the leaves I used Summer Splash and Pretty Peacock. I could have used colored card stock, but I wanted a more splotchy background for die cutting, then added more textured color for the edges. This die set is quickly becoming a favorite for me!
