Each spring Stampin’ Up! announces the five new In Colors that we will create with for the next two years, and they’ve introduced them thru social media mystery posts, early releases in a new DSP package, and always through the displays and posts connected to the OnStage event. We’ve been seeing the Hydrangea Hue for several months now with OnStage postings, but I believe this is a first for me – where all five colors are shown before OnStage even arrives!
But more importantly than the colors, Stampin’ Up! has announced that with the release of these new In Colors for 2026-2028, we will have NEW INK CASES AS WELL!
This design features a felt ink pad in a magnet-based, stackable case; it’s thoughtfully engineered, beautifully functional, and completely top of the line. With an easy, mess-free open and a snap-tight closure, we think you’ll agree it’s one of the coolest ink pad cases available. Added bonus: it holds more ink! More ink = more fun stamping + fewer refills. Listed below are more points regarding the new cases heading our way:
- In 2026, only our new In Colors will be offered in the new magnetic felt pads.
- In 2027, all ink colors will transition to the new magnetic felt pad as part of a planned color revamp, and the current pad style will be phased out.
- Felt is a more stable material for dye-based inks over time. Working with our manufacturing partner, this new design allows us to offer what we believe will be the best overall ink pad experience on the market, with benefits such as:
- a more consistent and reliable inking experience over time.
- reduced risk of challenges such as leaking or color changes as pads age.
- a magnetic case that’s easier to open and close and is designed to stack neatly.
For those who have been stamping for years, we already have experienced felt ink pads, but there will be a bit of a change for those only use to the foam pads. Don’t worry though – you will adjust just fine.
And as for the magnetic cases, I am super excited for the change!!!! The past two case designs were almost a total opposite to open/close that caused issues of forcing cases to close in a way it wasn’t meant to close. Those issues resulted in broken hinges and cases that no longer worked properly nor sealed properly. This new case I’m hoping will alleviate those issues.
We will have the chance to experience and play with these new cases – as well as the new In Colors! – during our OnStage After Hours session with several thousand stampers!!!
