You should see my dining room table right now. It looks like a large paper basket of paper fruit has been upended – like the old “Fruit Basket Upside Down” game. Pool Boy and I have been busy prepping for not one but two classes that will happen in the next 9 days, while also preparing for the Accountability Group swap at the same time. We have the New In Color card class at one end of the table, the Homemade Sweetness class covering 2/3 of the table, and today I started on the Waterside Retreat display I need for the Accountability gals.
So how do I keep it straight with all of the paper projects going on? It comes down to working smarter, not harder. I have 6 cards designed for the Homemade Sweetness class as an added tutorial, and ALL of those card ideas will be the same ones I use for the Waterside Retreat display. Just change up the DSP and stamps!!! My framed 6 x 12 scene for the May Stamp ‘n Sip project will be one I design for the Accountability display! Getting multiple uses out of projects is a huge key for keeping it all straight. Pretty sure the Waterside Retreat display can also be used as a Masculine card class the middle of May as well!

I love a good DSP for masculine cards, and this patterned paper is perfect for multiple uses! The muted colors in the color combination are beautiful together, but I have to say I never would have paired Old Olive with Pool Party. Stampin’ Up! is excellent at pushing the traditional, expected color combos, giving us fresh color choices in our paper crafting.
I’m also trying to use those patterns with multiple mats that are cut apart, so the water scene is just one of those choices. Other than adding a simple white banner from the Triple Banner punch for the greeting, this card is finished quickly. No die cuts needed!

I shared the blueberry card above on Friday, and all I did today was substitute DSP and card stock to create the same card for the Waterside Retreat display. There is no need to reinvent the “paper crafting wheel” people! Using the very same layouts will help me to quickly create the display when crunched for time.
Final Thoughts….
The family will all be in this weekend to celebrate Pool Boy’s birthday belatedly. Nothing like doing so almost 6 weeks late, right? It’s difficult to get all of the calendars to jive, and will only get harder as the grandkids get older and become more active in school functions.
Then next Wednesday Pool Boy and I are heading to Destin for a much needed get away. Some people travel in the winter to warmer destinations, we travel in the spring and summer. We have friends joining us for some fresh shrimp meals, hopefully a little fishing trip, and just a time to rejuvenate and unwind. We have a stop over planned in St. Louis for the Accountability group session and to see the granddaughters’ art displays first – see, even traveling I multitask!
But until then, there is lots of work to accomplish! The In Color Card Class is tomorrow, and tomorrow is also the final day to sign up for the Homemade Sweetness Pop Up class. Until then, I hope you have a great day enjoying whatever makes you happy, and God Bless!
