The internet connection has been spotty at best, and nothing at the worst! My best best at writing the post happens around 3am in the morning, so that explains why I’ve not posted – I’ve tried though!! This was the only photo I was able to load these past coupld of days.
Thursday we were in Skagway, and we loaded the White Pass train excursion gifted to us by Stampin’ Up! It was a beautiful trip following the path the miners travelled so many years ago as they searched for gold in the Yukon. Once we were above tree line it was fairly stark and desolate terrain, and it’s hard to believe these people walked the path with pack horses/mules loaded down with the required supplies.
Friday morning we woke about 6:30 am to announcements that the Endicott Arm glacier was in view. The cruise ship travelled up the narrow fjord created by the glacier. Ice flows were passing us right and left as we worked our way to the head of the fjord. Once we were at the glacier, the cruise ship did a 360 degree turn so everyone could see the glacier from their balconies. This area was pretty narrow so how they were able to spin the ship around was amazing.
After the glacier viewing we sailed to Juneau and I went ashore in search of some souvenirs for our grandkids. Otherwise, we spent a quiet day on board the ship.
At dinner that evening we were honored with a special treat from our waiters and the head of the dining room because of our anniversary. And to top it off, our waiter Marlo sang “Let It Be Me” – and he did a wonderful job!!!! We’ve had a wonderful time on the cruise but are down to the final days. Saturday we are at sea, Sunday we port at Victoria, and Monday we are back in Seattle and ready for the rest of the adventure. More pictures are available on my FB page.
Have a wonderful weekend, and God Bless!
