The 12 Days Of Creativity Advent Calendar!

I love Christmas. I love the trees, the music, the lights and outside decorations, the holiday treats, the anticipation of time with family. I love it all – minus the shopping and the gift wrapping. Those — not so much. But here’s the thing about Christmas — it usually falls on our shoulders to pull it all off. Family helps, but it’s up to us to decide all of the details. I try to have my trees up by mid November, so by Thanksgiving the house is decorated, the boxes and tubs are back in storage, and all we are focusing on is the Thanksgiving meal.

But this year, I will be gone for 11 days to Italy, and I’m pretty sure when I get home the last thing on my mind will be decorating. Not a problem though, because I already the the details ironed out! I’ve hired a friend to come in and have all of my trees up with lights!! Kait helped us last year, and it was so much easier having her help!!! She’ll bebop over the night before and have her sons help pull out and carry the boxes to the correct rooms, ready to attack the next morning. By mid day she will have all five trees standing with lights in place, and ornaments unpacked and ready for me to hang. The boxes and containers will be back in storage, and I can hang ornaments while I recuperate from travels.

After all of the “details” – decorating, lists of gifts, shopping for gifts, wrapping gifts, etc. – the last thing we want to think about is figuring out what we want on our own wish list! We’ve a busy weekend ahead, with another home Chiefs game and some medical appointments first thing Monday morning. Today’s plans include prepping for the September Christmas Card Class happening next Tuesday.
