Thank You Cards For The Cousin Trip To CA!

It was a whirlwind of a trip since we only had two days in California minus the two travel days, but it couldn’t have been a better trip! There’s a perk when travelling with your nephew the pilot – he’s flown into most of the airports so he knew how to maneuver and you simply tag along. Once we were at our resort, he told us when we need to leave, he drove us around, and suggested restaurants. We had downtime for hot tub visits, a farmer’s market, and time to chill in between meeting with our cousins for dinner. The weather was perfect – low 80’s with no humidity – which was perfect because the day we left highs were predicted to reach 105 degrees. Needless to say, I would jump at a trip like this again!

So right after emptying the suitcase and starting laundry, I headed to the craft room to create a couple of thank you cards to mail. I turned to the Autumn Opulence DSP and used my favorite print in the package. I needed a contrasting pattern and to showcase both well, I turned to Early Espresso and Petal Pink for my color combination. This is an easy fun fold pattern that is easy to create on short notice, so all I needed where stamps and inks to complete.

Since I didn’t have any stamps that said “cousin”, I went with the fall theme. The stamp sets Thanks and Giving, along with Elegant Leaves were within reach, and I pulled Petal Pink and Early Espresso inks for stamping. Since the linen thread was on my work surface already as well as the gold adhesive backed gems they became the embellishments, and in no time my cards were ready for writing, and mailing.

Final Thoughts….

Even though travelling is enjoyable, there is no place like home. We need a grandson fix this week, so we will be heading over tonight for a short visit, and next weekend we head to St. Louis for a granddaughter fix as well. We have Ben’s second birthday party this weekend, and Great will be coming up to visit, so a busy weekend ahead for sure. I treasure these times with family, just like I treasure the past trip with family. I had quality time with my sister, my nephew, and cousins, and it’s impossible to put a price on that. Nothing can replace our family.

I hope you find time to visit with family today, find time to craft, to create, and to enjoy life. God Bless!
