By now you have probably been seeing gobs of sunflower embossing folder projects everywhere! It is obviously the hot item from this week’s Online Exclusive release. And Patty Bennett’s video showing how to add ink to embossed mats has gone viral for sure. If you’ve yet to check her out at Pattystamps.com, be sure to do so. You will love it!

Is this not a stunning card????? The background is one of the solid DSP choices in the Splendid Autumn DSP package, still available in our online store. After embossing, I added Highland Heather and Petunia Pop to the embossed area to create this beautiful background. To finish I simply added a Blackberry Bliss mat, white baker’s twine, and a stamped greeting from The Right Worlds (quickly becoming my go-to greeting stamp set!)

The girls at Techniques class had a blast playing with all sorts of color combos yesterday. I threw out a pile of DSP precut to 4 by 5.25. They picked paper, embossed the mats, then went to town inking and playing to their hearts content. Several times they used both sides of the DSP mat because the DEBOSSED and EMBOSSED sides will look so different.
Just when you thought they had found the best ink/mat combo, someone would get excited over the NEXT one! It was suggested I used “orgasmic” in today’s headline post!!! They had a blast playing, and unfortunately that’s not something we take time for – just grabbing supplies to play and experiment. Many times we are too focused on what we are wanting to create without letting the creative juices flow.
A Fundraiser Close To My Heart Coming Soon!!!
Two of the loves in my life are coming together next week – papercrafting AND children, especially those with special needs. I’m pairing with a local business called Unlimited Abilities in Clarence, Mo to help raise funds for area families impacted with disabilities. I was so blessed during my teaching years to work with children impacted by special needs – Autism, Down’s, hearing, speech, etc. and during the month of July I will be running not only a fundraiser connected to the company, but also donating my commission on all sales from online orders and classes directly to them as well.
Be sure to watch for more info to follow and I hope you will help me support this wonderful organization as they provide services and support for these children and their families.
Until next time, have a blessed day my friends.
