Bauble Blooms Meets Fancy Borders!!

Good morning everyone and it’s Friday – YAY! I was going to be at a craft crop locally this weekend, and was looking forward to putting the yearlong scrapbook layouts together while participating in the virtual album retreat hosted by Stampin’ Up on my Ipad, but plans changed. Instead we have a visitation/funeral out of town today, and grandson Cal is coming to Nana’s and Papa’s on Saturday, which leaves us Sunday when we head to Branson to meet Megan and the granddaughters – pretty much filled the weekend WITHOUT papercrafting.

But that’s ok – we will roll with the punches! I’ve a couple of kits from our kit collection that I bought for the girls in mind, to go with us to Branson as well, so I’m going to squeeze in some crafting while away. The girls LOVE to craft and create! It’s never to early to feed the crafting juices! More on that at the end.

I stepped outside my comfort zone with this card, cause not only did I heat emboss the silver images BUT I ALSO heat embossed the Merry Christmas with clear embossing powder. When you put that with all the heat embossing we did for the In Person Christmas Card class earlier this week, I’ve racked up bonus points for crafting!!! (Lola and embossing powder are kind of like oil and water!)

I LOVE how these ornaments turned out by adding the floral border from the Fancy Borders stamp set!!! On the Secret Sea bauble to the left, I simply stamped the image back to back twice, while on the Cloud Cover on the right I reversed the stamped image at the top and the bottom for two completely different looks! One stamp used in different ways.

Recognize the embossing folder on the Secret Sea background??? It’s one of the Glass and Gardens embossing folder combos! That’s one of those hidden gems in the catalog that’s easy to miss!

Here’s a picture several years ago with the girls and Great crafting away. They had the best time that day punching and glueing the shapes. If you’ve yet to allow your kids and grandkids to craft with your supplies, it’s time to share!! They will love sharing time like this with you.

I miss these years with the girls. This is probably about the time that Fiona was unable to say her name correctly – it was FiNOna (which was so fitting since her favorite word at that time was NO). Megan was so sad when Fiona came home from preschool able to say her name correctly! They are growing too quickly, and this fall they will be in 5th and 2nd grade. One of these years it will not be cool to craft or spend a week in Branson with Nana and Papa, so we will enjoy every minute we can.
