We are having some extensive yardwork done this month with the removal of multiple trees. No, we are not taking out perfectly good trees, but we have several large ash trees that succombed to disease, along with a couple of huge pines and maples, and multiple limbs on others. Currently the yard looks like a small tornado touched down on our property. Once the trees are removed, then it’s the back filling of holes, grass seeded, and fall planting of some new trees to finish the project. This will take a while for sure.
It will change the look of our property and home, and our shade will diminish as well. But there is also a positive tradeoff because there will be fewer leaves and branches to chase in the fall! So while I’m losing trees outside of our house, I’m playing with the new Autumn products heading our way in the Holiday mini catalog instead. It will be much easier to clean up my paper scraps from the diecut leaves and trees than the actual large trees laying everywhich way in the yard!

The beautiful background diecut in the card above is part of the Autumn Toile bundle, and may well be the highlight of the set. Be prepared to poke out the little pieces of scrap though!!! I love the pairing of the Pecan Pie diecut with the Early Espresso patterned DSP behind, and the beautiful clustering of pumpkins as the focal point. Throw in some Early Epresso baker’s twine and gems with a label die cut from Stylish Shapes and you have a beautiful card ready to go for any fall occasion!
The Lights Of Aurora Suite!

Chris was able to share her creations using the Lights Of Aurora Suite last night on FB group, and one of her creations came from casing the catalog! When you are ready to use new products, be sure to check out the photos in the catalog, as well as the online store for ideas to start the creative juices. It’s OK to case Stampin’ Up as well as others by simply giving credit where credit is due. CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything, so why not use these ideas as a spring board to crafting?
Chris always does a wonderful job sharing with us, and Pam and I are thankful for our crafting community who are willing to share their talents with others. Sometimes the sharing happens online with our FB lives, other times it’s with displays and ideas at events. They are even willing to share in a class setting! We learn and grow from others, and it’s especially true with crafting.
Final Thoughts…
I had a neighbor reach out by text yesterday asking me about the tree laying in our yard. She wondered if it had fallen on it’s own, and how lucky we were that it landed away from our home. Pool Boy and I laughed, because she was wondering about “the tree” – she obviously missed the 4 others laying there as well!
There’s an art to cutting down trees, knowing just how to notch the trunk so that it lands in an open, safe area. But I think I’ll just stay working on my little diecut paper crafting trees, leaves, etc. Much easier to clean up!
Until next time, have a great day, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!!!
