We had a full day of activities yesterday with the girls. Where as Monday was all about the physical activity, we threw in abit of educational stuff yesterday morning, and we covered the fine arts spectrum with our tickets to see the musical David at the Sight And Sound Theater.
First stop was the trout hatchery by Table Rock Lake. Besides feeding trout outside the discovery center, we headed into the center to see their displays, one of which is the two-headed snake! At a glance it looks like two different snakes laying side by side, but it’s his tail you are seeing. Zoom in and you can see both heads – just too much snake for Nora and Nana. Fiona thought it was cool.
The girls wanted to drive across the dam after beinging at the base of the structure where the hatchery is located. So across we went, then into the Visitor’s Center for more displays and a video showing the construction of the dam. Nora came back to the condo spitting the numbers of how much the dam cost in 1958 versus today, the amount of concrete used, and other facts her mother just had to know.
After swimming then lunch at Get Basted (our favorite BBQ here in Branson) we headed to the Sight And Sound Theater to see David. The girls love theater so I knew this was something they’d enjoy, BUT they were totally enthralled instead. They’ve already requested to see the Christmas show at Christmas.
Today is the quiet day to recharge – especially for Nana and Papa – with going to the movies, some school shopping and the pool, then tomorrow is the day at Silver Dollar City. Other than the heat we’ve had a wonderful time and created many memories together.
