Gearing Up For The Holiday Season!

I believe the Christmas spirit is arriving early this year. I’ve yet to get out the decorations, but my mind is already thinking that way. I’ve scheduled my house cleaner to come spend a couple of days in mid November helping me set up the trees, I’ve purchased some new decorations, and Christmas gifts are already arriving at the house. My monthly classes are scheduled for this week, so when I return from Back Stage on the 17th I can focus on decorating and getting everything ready for Thanksgiving.

Megan and the girls will be arriving the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving, so that gives us a full day for some fun cooking and decorating. Nora and Fiona are at the perfect age to help, and they love to craft. Fiona has even requested some of my retired Christmas DSP to make decorations for their home, so those will be travelling with us Sunday when we head to the airport. If you’ve followed me for a while, you already know I love framed art that I can change out by holidays and seasons. Such an easy way to add another layer to your crafting supplies instead of simply focusing on cards alone.

This little 5×5 inch frame is perfect to tuck in to an open nook or spot for some simple holiday cheer. I used the Delicate Pines dies along with the Elegant Pine Snowflake DSP. The color combo includes Shaded Spruce, Pretty Peacock, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler, and the base of the circle is the largest circle die in the Spotlight On Nature dies. For the greeting I used the Ornamental Christmas stamp set.

But spending time creating and crafting feeds the soul, warms the heart, and creates memories when you can include others.
