I’m in withdrawal, but I’m NOT giving in. By this time of year I’ve a deck full of planters and I’ve spent WAY too much money on flowers from my favorite greenhouse. So far I’ve only bought two of my favorite ferns – Kimberly Queen ferns that is – and they have yet to be potted! This spring has been a flurry of travel and doctor’s appointments and knowing we will be gone several times this summer I chose to stay away from flowers.
But I have to admit it’s kind of hard. Looking out our sunroom windows I miss the cheerful colors of my pots. I love the bright colors of pink, fuchsia, reds, and yellows, and just a tiny bit of orange. I love the different shades of coleus with the bright green of creeping jenny, and if I don’t watch it I will cave and take off for the greenhouse!!!
The Beauty Of Floral Impressions!

Lucky for me Stampin’ Up created the beautiful Floral Impressions DSP!!! This was one of the first things that grabbed me when I saw new products revealed at OnStage. My least favorite is actually the daisies I used in today’s card! When you are up cutting paper at 1am cause you can’t sleep, always choose your least favorite so if you mess up, you don’t care as much! LOL!

Isn’t this a bright, cheery card to send? I love pocket cards such as this and it’s a great way to use up excess DSP patterns or ones that you CAN live without!
I paired the DSP with the stamp set Blooming Phrases found in the annual catalog. Love the little curve line that you can add floral images to the greeting!
And so I didn’t accidentally wake up Pool Boy from noise in my craftroom, I turned to my ziplock bag of leftover label diecuts from other classes. No need to run the die cut machine if something from the bag will work! First thing to catch my eye was the small die from Spotlight On Nature. I’m disappointed that the stampset is retiring, BUT thankful they carried over the dies! These were my favorite last year.
Final Thoughts…
So, I will try to get hold of my flower obsession and refrain from buying. If I need blooms daily it will just have to be Stampin’ Up’s floral patterned papers I turn to. Since Pool Boy helps me pot all of those pots buy trugging containers of potting soil I know he’s hoping I stay strong and not cave as well.
We still haven’t potted the ferns though! Until next time, keep stamping and crafting my friends, and God Bless.
