What was your first “wow” moment with your papercrafting journey?? Many people will say it was using heat embossing, and I have to admit it was downright impressive the first time – well, heck, it’s impressive everytime I use it! – but for me it was experiencing the very first embossing folder. What a rush to open the folder and see the beautiful embossed image from the folder now on the card stock mat. I was so got with embossing folders I hit every Michael’s and Hobby Lobby I came across that summer to buy any folder I didn’t have!
My first organizational product was running a card stock sample with every folder, then put all of the examples on a large ring for reference when crafting. I numbered my folders AND numbered my samples so I could go search at a glance to see what I had. Yes, when I first started paper crafting I was VERY organized and took joy in everything in order. Now, I have two boxes stuffed with folders, a rack on my desk with ones current, and a pile on my table for those used and not put away. Organized, I am not! About every couple of weeks I have to clean and put away supplies, only to have it messed up again in just a matter of hours.
The Holly Hybrid Embossing Folder Coming To The Online Store!

In my FB LIVE yesterday I shared this beautiful, subtle card for the holiday season. I am always looking for different color combos (I had a binder with those too!!!! Man, I was one organized gal!) and I really like the combo of Soft Sea Foam with Cloud Cover and basic White. But how to add Cloud Cover besides the card base and the tag die cut???
Especially when Stampin’ Up chose to NOT market the Cloud Cover ink pads for customers due to quality issues. The thing is, they DO have ink pads available for demos while in stock, but once they are gone, they will not re-stock. If you want one, reach out to me or your demo and see if you can get one. They are priced at $9, so that’s about equal to a McD’s value meal, isn’t it?
I used sponge daubers and lightly added ink from my Cloud Cover ink pad to draw attention to the embossed holly leaves and berries. That touch of ink really makes the embossed images pop! Those watching commented you could purchase the plain ink spots and create a small ink pad, or even purchase the white craft ink pad – which comes uninked – and create a regular size pad with the ink refills.
Whatever you decide, I think you need to give Cloud Cover a try. Personally, I like mine and I see myself using it for sure.
If you missed my video where we discussed the whole Cloud Cover issue, you can click on the link below to access the video on my Youtube channel. While you are there, please subscribe to my channel. With all the changes Facebook is making deleting videos over 30 days old, Youtube may be your only way to go back and rewatch a card technique or project.
