I believe it was during the Covid shutdown that pivoting and crafting really took off. At that time I was totally “in person” when it came to classes and stamping events. I WANTED to push into online, BUT was a bit timid with the whole marketing, packaging and mailing, videoing, typing tutorials, etc. It’s still not the easiest thing BUT at that time, with cancelling all of our gatherings you either pivoted or quit. I’m still probably 65% in person, but most all of my classes there is someone on line wanting it by mail.
So, this morning I had a final count for a private workshop I’m offering for our local MomCo groups, and I went to place the order, only to discover the ITEMS ARE ON BACKORDER!!! Ugh! What to do?!?!? We have the option of trying to reschedule after Thanksgiving, change the products, or completely cancel.

We were originally going to use the Christmas Tags and More DSP along with the Greetings For You Ephemera pack, but with both of these items on back order and the delivery date anticipated close to Thanksgiving, we turned to the North Pole Delivery DSP package and the Christmas Word Collage Hybrid folder/die instead. Measurements are the same as the original tags, simply pivoting to another product that will work as well.

These tags are simple, take use of the punched out items included in the DSP, and with no stamping involved, easy without any learning curve for the products. The idea is to provide the moms in our community a night out with minimal cost, the opportunity to create and chat with friends and new acquaintances with no stress. DSPs such as the North Pole Delivery and the Christmas Tags and More help me with prep, and no need to pack stamps, blocks, inks, die cutting machine, dies, etc. either. We will divide the DSP package between several ladies, and all I need to do is precut cardstock and DSP rectangles.
With 20 ladies signed up, we will have a fun night that’s stress free for them, easy for me, and will keep the cost down as well.
The New Packaging For Stamp Sets And Dies – Gotta Pivot!!!
We will all get a chance to practice the art of pivoting soon since Stampin’ Up has chosen to do away with the CD boxes used for our stamp sets. Our packaging will change in size too. That means we will have to change up our storage for our stamps and look at new ways to make the pivoting easier. I’ve already received several of the new packaging items with the preorder to November Online Exclusives, and I’ve ordered some acrylic storage boxes to see if I can pivot easy.
Pam and I will be live tonight at 7pm central on our group FB page Stamp. Ink. Paper – Creating With Pam and Lola. Now there’s a positive result on pivoting!!! With Covid Pam and I started a group of our stamping friends to allow everyone to gather together by FB lives. We are STILL going strong and our group has grown from about 35 to almost 600. We gather about three times a month and share ideas and products, and we look forward to seeing our virtual friends pop in and watch. Want to join us? Pivoting and change isn’t easy, BUT I look back at where I was all those years ago, and without pivoting I wouldn’t be where I am today. And for that, I’m thankful.
Here’s hoping you have a great day crafting and creating, and if you have to pivot, try to be positive!!! Until next time, God Bless!
