We woke to some sunshine yesterday morning, so took off driving for our Acadia visit. Rain showers were moving in mid morning, so we were hoping to catch some scenic views before the weather changed. Keep in mind, in Maine the views are always scenic no matter the weather. Sunshine brings you the blue skies and ocean waves, but stormy brings dramatic views as well!
Unfortunately, with the government shutdown the national park rangers on furlough BUT the one park ranger we met said the park was open, so drive to your hearts content.

Of course, with the visitor centers closed, that meant there were no MAPS to be found, so back to google maps we went. Kind of anyways, because of spotty reception!! Didn’t matter though, we still enjoyed the drive, even though Pool Boy said we had been on the same section of road a couple of times!

Just a few of our photos from today’s drive. See what I mean about dramatic? The roads away from the shore were lined with beautiful trees holding on to the last of their fall folliage, but as the rains came down so did the leaves.

I loved this photo with the large estate sitting looking out at the ocean. For any Nora Roberts fans who are waiting for the final book in The Lost Brides trilogy, I’m thinking this could well be the location!!!
After a quick lunch of clam chowder that was delicious, Pool Boy and I decided to return to the same restaurant for the evening meal. We had dinner at the Drydock Inn and Cafe and guess what I had??

Yes – Lobster Mac and Cheese and it was the best of my three lobster meals!! Even Pool Boy had not one, but three bites and deemed it good. He chose well with scallops topped with crab stuffing and covered in Mornay sauce, so he was a happy camper. Did we find a donut anywhere??? NOPE!
We head back towards Portland today, and then we fly home on Friday. This has been a quick trip, but still good memories! I’ll be back tomorrow to wrap up our trip, and check back to see what’s happening in the Stampin’ Up world. Until then, keep crafting and creating, and God Bless!!!
