As a Stampin’ Up customer turned demonstrator, I’ve been surprised at the “evolution of Paper Pumpkin” since it was introduced. The beginning years it was a cute mystery kit that showed up monthly, usually cards but sometimes treat bags and gift ideas. There was always a small stamp set and ink spot included, and the whole thing would come together fairly quickly and easily. It was just ok.
I had my subscription, but about the end of the second year I was ready to stop. I just wasn’t impressed with it. BUT suddenly, the Paper Pumpkin Fairy Godmother stepped in and the magic started. The kits were more creative, more detailed in materials, more “wow” to them and they just keep improving!
A prime example is the kit for September – FALL FOR TOILE.

This month’s Kit – FALL FOR TOILE – coordinates with the Autumn Toile Suite Collection coming in the Holiday mini catalog. Stampin’ Up started this several years ago, and it’s an awesome idea! The kit details interchange with those in the Suite, opening up so many more possibilities!!!
A couple of years ago they introduced “Add-on dies” that coordinated with three months of Paper Pumpkin as well. These add-ons usually included a floral component (petal, blossom, or leaf), a label die, and maybe a scripted word. BUT the add-on for July-September is one of my favorites. So much so, I included them in the Fruit Pop Up Class I’m currently packaging.
Nine dies for $12! You receive the 2″ stitched circle, the blossom and oak leaf, the scripted word “hello” and STRAWBERRY/ACORN pieces as well!
Ok, this is just stinkin’ cute AND clever! These interchangable dies gives you TWO different pieces to use in your crafting arsenal. And it makes the add-on set so much better! But there is a catch to these “add-on kits”. They are ONLY available through customers with Paper Pumpkin subscription!!! I’m thankful for the Paper Pumpkin Fairy Godmother’s intervention, and each month the magic continues. The picture above of the Fall For Toile kit is all we see of the kit before arrival. When you open that orange (or specially designed) box, the kit will be covered with coordinating colored tissue paper. It’s the mystery, the suspense, the surprise that adds to the appeal!
Can’t stand the mystery, suspense, and surprise????? That’s why we have the Online Kit Collection!!!! Word is that the Paper Pumpkin Fairy Godmother works magic there as well, so the possibilities are endless! It’s my understanding the same person is over both of these craft lines, and I would say he’s a Prince Charming for Stampin’ Up. That’s how much our craft kits have evolved and improved! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for October thru December!
