Woke up this morning to the sight of our tents and chairs ready to go for the first day on the beach at Gulf Shores. We had easy travels – especially with toddler and baby – for our road trip and we are loving enjoying the time with the family while our kids and their spouses cook! Pool Boy is in charge of breakfasts, lunches are “everyone fend for yourself”, and for dinner we had mostaccioli last night, grilled coconut chicken and confetti rice tonight. I’m on for kp duty after dinner, and Great enjoys the time holding baby Benjamin.
It’s so nice to have this time with our grands, and for them to be together as well. Fiona and Cal have bonded over sand, and Nora loves playing and entertaining baby Ben. Will there be smooth sailing all week??? Of course NOT!!! I may be hopeful, but I’m not delusional!!! We’re all a bit too strong willed and opinionated for that to happen.

After afternoon naps by most all, some headed back to the beach, others are sitting on deck enjoying the shade and breezes. Word is tonight there will be a game of Uno with the girls, and some board game for the parents. I’m thinking reading my kindle is about as industrious as I want to be until clean up duty!
