For many of you Christmas is still coming this week on the 25th but the Rist household celebrated with the kids and grands this past weekend. The tree is empty of packages, the wrapping debris is in the trashcan waiting for pickup, the refrigerator is loaded with leftovers, and life is quiet again. Got to say it’s rather nice to relax these next few days waiting for Christmas’s arrival. More to follow at the end of today’s post.
Creating With Fresh Freesia and Old Olive

Today’s card is another one I created for our Accountability group in St. Louis, but I have to say it happened totally backwards. I originally stamped and colored the images for a different card, but during assembly, I didn’t think the images went with the card!!! After taking the time to color and assemble, the whole punched label/floral dies were pushed aside! No problem though – simply grab the DSP package and pull out patterns that will work with the cast-off items, problem solved and another card designed – kind of!
By this time of year, I’m ready for a color change from Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, etc. I love Christmas, but it’s time for a break! The new DSP’s give me the changes I need to focus on something other than Christmas.

Final Thoughts…..

Hard to believe we actually got all four of the kids looking at us for pictures! Nora is 11 and a little mother hen who loves holding baby Ben. Ben is just over 1, and he wasn’t sure what to think of the whole Christmas package process. As long as he had his thumb, he was good. Cal will be 3 next month, and he was busy opening his packages and then helping with Ben’s as well. And then we have our precocious Fiona who turns 8 today. It’s hard having a birthday right at Christmas! She’s already had a birthday party with friends, so today they are going to an indoor trampoline place and she’s requested a “charcuterie” board with snacks for her birthday meal! Isn’t that what all 8 year old’s request???

For Cal the favorite gift was his own binoculars, or as he says “noculars”. I understand he and his daddy had several bear hunts yesterday so he could practice his binocular skills!
Here’s hoping you and your family have a wonderful Christmas gathering, whether it’s on the actual day or the following weekend, or whenever you can meet. Until then, God Bless!
