As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a teacher. Not always music though – I went through a few years of thinking I wanted to be a social studies teacher, and there was a time I thought math would be fun as well. (I can positively say science was NEVER a possibility! Sorry Sandy Werr – totally disliked science!) I loved MOST of my teachers and I am thankful for their influence in my life.
As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, take a moment and think of some of your favorite teachers. If you are like me, you probably can’t remember specific lessons they taught, but you can remember how much they cared for you. How much they encouraged, prodded, molded, and shaped you into the person you are today. It is without a doubt one of the hardest professions, and yet one of the most rewarding and a true calling.

I’ve been playing with the stacked circle technique this week for one of my upcoming tech classes, and I shared the cards last night on our group page Stamp. Ink. Paper – Creating with Pam and Lola. Our group page has been going strong ever since Covid. We started it as a way to share and connect with our stamp friends, and once we started, it just kept going. I think we started with about 25-30 members, and now we are over 500. Are we scripted and polished? Oh my goodness, NO! We craft on the fly, and make mistakes, and botch things. BUT we are ok with that, cause we are gathered with friends who are like minded and accepting! Want to join us? Click on the link below and ask to join – the more the merrier.

Final Thoughts….
Yesterday Pool Boy and I had dinner while we were in Columbia, and the hostess mentioned that I looked like her music teacher Mrs. Rist. GUILTY! She shared with me what degree she’s pursuing, her future plans, what her siblings are doing, and simply catching up. She was in 2nd grade the year I retired, and yet she still remembered me. As I typed this post, another student messaged me she is moving back to our area from Texas and how excited she is to come home. both of them have warmed my heart by reaching out.
I’m so very thankful that I chose to be a teacher. I’m so thankful for the hundreds of students I taught, and I’m thankful that years later they still connect with me.
Put yourself in their shoes today, and then take a moment to thank them – it will mean the world.
Until next time, God Bless.
Lola
