My goodness, the morning is getting away from me, and in about 45 minutes I am heading to Grandparents’ Day to be with our grandson Cal. Pretty sure he’s not going to care either way as a 21 month old though! When I’ve picked him up before he has the look on his face of “why are you here? This isn’t right”. Not the normal routine since it’s not mom or dad picking him up.
We had a great night of bingo, crafting, sharing ideas, and simply gathering together to visit and have fun! And as always, I forget to take pictures until after it’s over! BUT I can give you a brief showing with some staged pictures afterwards!
We always offer those attending the chance to bless our local food pantry with donations. I would say we had around 200 items donated, and this is always an optional activity. Those participating receive drawing tickets for every item they donated, and the winner received a $25 Stampin’ Up gift certificate. Thank you to your generosity for donating!!!
This year’s goody bag was a FULL PACKAGE of the Take A Bow DSP from the holiday mini catalog as well as 6 sheets of each coordinating card stock – that’s the equivilent of a FULL PACKAGE of card stock, and a value of over $22.50 for each goody bag!
We played 5 games of bingo with prizes, along with 4 games of Heads and Tails for smaller prizes – worst part was watching me try to flip a coin! The NFL Refs must have to attend a session of Coin Flipping 101 to know how to do it, cause my flips were the pits!
We also took the sketches found in the Holiday mini catalog on page 16 and created 20 projects to display for those attending! We used the card stock and DSP from the goody bags and posted measurements, as well as what stamps/dies we used. Our bingo fans were encouraged to take pictures for future reference!
I’ll be posting our make and takes later as well. Displays, make and takes, games, 10 winners, goody bags, AND the opportunity to share with others made for a great night. Special thanks to Pam Cosby, Chris Howe, and Sandy Werr for helping with the displays, and to Arlene Theerman for distributing raffle tickets for the donation drawing. And A HUGE THANK YOU to our bingo queen Johnna Bixenman Clarke for taking on the job of calling the numbers!!!
Until next time, have a wonderful weekend, find time to do what makes you happy, and God Bless!!!
