If you didn’t look at a calendar or the date on your phone you could ALMOST believe that spring has arrived. The temps are in the low 60’s, with sunshine, blue skies, and the week ahead of the same temps! After the winter days of dreary gray skies, brownish trees with no leaves, grass laying dormant, and just overall yucky roads from all the salty, sandy treatments for winter driving, spring brings so much joy. I look forward to seeing the leaves budding, the redbud trees blooming, the shoots of daffodils and other spring flowers coming up and just the arrival of color back in our lives.
BUT NOT NOW!!! It’s too early for things to wake from the winter weather. Winter is still lurking in the background, ready to raise it’s ugly head with freezing temps, cold winds, and snow. It’s not a question of if, it’s a question of when because it’s just mid February! Too soon to come out of dormancy nature! Stay asleep!
This month’s Paper Pumpkin from Stampin’ Up! is a great way to look forward to spring! The Fluttering Garden kit is one to celebrate spring without the fear of a hard frost hurting those tender buds on trees and flowering bushes and damaging the new growth of tender shoots.

This kit centers around hummingbirds!!! Enjoy creating spring cards, AND receive a FREE extra stamp set in honor of Paper Pumpkin’s anniversary!

Don’t get me wrong – I’m not a fan of winter. I’m tired of the cold, of the yucky streets from weather treatments, and the dreary gray skies like most people. BUT too early of a spring brings the chance of damage from frost and freezing temps. I WANT the redbuds to bloom, I WANT the lilacs to smell, I WANT the fruit trees to hold those delicate blossoms. Just NOT in February!
I’m going to enjoy spring through crafting instead, looking forward to mid March when spring is suppose to arrive!!! Until next time, have a great day, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!
