No matter how hard you plan, something can always put a wrench in the process. Take our trip to Destin later this month. I made reservations back in the early summer of 2025. But when school rolled around in September, the granddaughters’ school announced the 5th grade musical the very week we would be in Florida. The music teacher nana didn’t want to miss her granddaughter Nora’s musical, so back to the reservations we went to make adjustments.
Then Megan called yesterday to tell me there was a snafu – a conflict with the art show on the same day WITH the gym needed for displays was bumping the 5th grade musical to another day. But it all works out – The new date has been set, Papa Pool Boy and I will be able to attend, so all is good, but you have to be able to roll and adjust with the punches, don’t we?

For the April Technique Classes I wanted to put as many new products as possible into their hands, BUT when you are working with limited supplies that takes planning for sure. I turned to our notecards because the smaller size would help stretch the In Color cardstock and ribbons, and less prep since the notecards are already scored. Everyone created the 5 notecards above, along with using the two new embossing folders, the two new punches, multiple new stamp sets, the new In Color blends and ribbons, AND learning a fast coloring technique as well!!!
That’s a pretty daunting list but we succeeded!!!

Check out the two embossed mats above. I used the new Flora Spray 3d mat, but by placing my card mats in different locations we achieved two different looks – the pink with the beautiful large floral image, the golden mat with more of a meadow of wildflowers. It’s like getting two embossing folders in one!

And check out the butterflies – they are multi-colored! No two butterflies were alike. Wonder how we did that????

Using the brush tip end of the blends, simply layer on a swath of color on a strip of white card stock paper. No need to worry if you have streaks allowing the white to show through! Once you have your colors on the card stock, simply stamp the butterflies with black ink, then punch out three butterflies at once!
Fast, easy, and for those who are “color resistant” stampers, a surefire way to win them over.
Final Thoughts….
It looked like there would be a big snafu when the new catalog goes live on May 5. One of the machines used in creating the new magnetic ink pad cases had technical issues, and our new In Color ink pads actually became “non-orderable”! NOT what you want to hear when rolling out a new catalog centered around these colors! Luckily for Stampin’ Up! the assembly line is back up, and now just a couple of them are currently unavailable. Hopes are that everything will be fine come May 5, but even Stampin’ Up! has to roll with the punches when there’s a wrench in the plans.
Here’s hoping you have a great day doing whatever makes you happy. If a snafu comes along to change your plans, just roll with the punches and go do some crafting! Keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless.
