I’ve enjoyed playing with the beautiful Potted Geranium bundle even though, as a gardener, raising beautiful geraniums eludes me! I’ve not had geraniums for over 15 years but this set has ALMOST convinced me to give them another try. We’ve had rich shades of real red, bright shades of poppy parade, subtles of calypso coral and petal pink, and today’s card is our final color combo – fresh freesia with rich razzleberry!
Using The Stacked Stone Stamp For Background!
Our Large Background Stamps Are Great To Create A Custom Look!
I was working on a geranium sampler a week ago, and stamped the leaves on a white brick dsp I purchased at one of the area large craft stores. I really liked how the leaves looked on the DSP but to reproduce on this card I wanted to only use Stampin’ Up products. By inking the Stacked Stone stamp with Smoky Slate, stamping off, and then stamping on Basic White I was able to get the same idea. Be sure to stamp off though! Full strength is too strong!
Layering Labels To Give For A Wow Statement!
There is a beautiful label die included in this bundle which works great with all of the greetings included in the stamp set. To give it a punch factor, I added 2 more dies out of Evening Evergreen to give the look of a mat and to make the label pop up against the white stacked stone background. Embellishments were the beautiful brass butterflies that carried over to our new annual catalog! I love these little guys and they are so easy to use when mailing a card!
Adding Texture With The Fern 3D Embossing Folder!
For the final effect I added texture with the Fern 3D embossing folder on the Evening Evergreen mat. If there is one thing that gives you the most for your money, it is adding embossing folders to your crafting arsenal. They are extremely reasonable in price, they are versatile since you can ink them up for additional color and texture, and they are easy to clean, store, and use many times over! I was so got with my first embossing folder used on a card – sold me on my first bigshot for that alone!
Final Thoughts…
During this busy weekend of celebrations, be sure to take the time to tell your family how much you love them and what they mean to you. It is so very easy to take for granted our loved ones, our lives together, and the freedoms we enjoy. Life changes quickly though, so treasure every minute with them.
Until next time, have a safe 4th of July and God Bless each of you.
