I needed a sympathy card this morning but my stash is depleted. Unfortunately, I go through many sympathy cards and I’m sure you do as well. I wanted to create a second card using the inked embossing folder technique so decided to combine the sympathy with technique to create a beautiful, monochromatic card to share here and record for YouTube. Needed card, daily website post, recording – all with one paper creation! Trying to work smarter, not harder here!!!
Inking The Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder For Added Dimension!
I chose Fresh Freesia as my card base, added a mat of white, and then the inked, embossed folder layer on top. This folder is truly gorgeous and when you add the ink before embossing, it makes the detailed floral images pop! Truly the star of the show!!!! I simply die cut basic white deckled dies, added a mat of Fresh Freesia between, and stamped the images and greeting from Hope And Prayer to make a simple but beautiful sympathy card.
Using Blends To Step Up The Bow!
Video Is Uploaded To My YouTube Channel!
When my web designer was doing her magic, she created a YouTube channel for me as well, but knowing I could only do so much, I pushed it to the back burner. Thanks to some support and encouragement from two gals we met in Michigan at the Leadership Retreat I came home and made it a priority to figure out the postings of videos from FB to YouTube. THANK YOU to Bonnie Alexander from Create Beautiful Cards and Karin Braxton with Crafting Creations By Karin for the gentle push and pointing of the finger to just do it!! Pam and I were so lucky to connect with you and we hope to reconnect again in August at Backstage in New Orleans!!!! That being said, please do me a favor and go to my YouTube channel and subscribe! I think I have all of SEVEN SUBSCRIBERS right now, but it’s a start!!!! You can find me under Lola Rist! Click on the link below to take you directly to the the recorded video:
Youth Group’s New Horizon Card Benefit Is This Weekend!
The Card Benefit for our Youth Group is this coming Sunday! We decided to wait until after Mother’s Day and graduations before selling. We just met Monday night to box the 250 cards using the New Horizons DSP packs and people have already been coming in to purchase ahead of time. I’m sure they will sell out!
Final Thoughts….
It will be a quiet weekend for Jim and I here in northeast Missouri. With everyone home last weekend, and our family trip to Michigan coming up soon everyone decided to stay home and veg. We have friends camping at a state park close by so I know we will be heading out there to share the campfire (my idea of camping – share the campfire THEN come home to sleep in our own bed!) and we also have a fish fry invitation along with church on Sunday so that’s enough to fill the holiday weekend! Until next time, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!!!
