A Birthday Card For A Birthday Boy!

We are home and hit the ground running – first a birthday, then an additional church service for Reformation Sunday, and now we are heading back to KC for a home Chiefs’ game. Pretty sure by tomorrow when the running stops for a couple of weeks I’ll splat my face on ground from exhaustion!

Saturday morning I woke up and was looking forward to Cal coming to visit for a couple of hours while his parents decorated for the birthday party when it hit me – I have no birthday card ready for Ben! So to my room I ran and started pulling.

I needed a background DSP with some blue tinges, so grabbed the Peaceful Garden DSP and found this background that was gender neutral. My color scheme came from the DSP – Secret Sea, Pecan Pie, and Crumb Cake.

I turned to the new online exclusive sets coming Nov. 1 and grabbed the Valentine Kisses bundle with the bear, and for the tiny greetings I used the new Banner Sayings stamp set. I used a quick fun fold card layout and started chopping away. For the #1, I used a retired die set with the Peaceful Garden Glimmer paper. And for the birthday party hat, I used the die for a flower bouquet found in the Valentine Kisses bundle and snipped it down to a party hat!

In a matter of minutes my card was cut, stamped, and assembled so that I was out of my room by the time Cal hit the door!

And here’s birthday boy Benjamin Reed in his cute lederhosen and his adorable hat. There’s no way Cal would wear that hat 5 minutes and Ben had it on at least 30 minutes! The theme of the party was ONEtoberfest, and they served soft pretzels with beer cheese, hot dogs, and bottled rootbeer that looked like it came out of a beer garden! The beer garden decorations and background music recorded by his uncle who plays in the German band weekends in Hermann, MO finished off the whole theme.

No FB LIVES today since we are in Kansas City, but I hope to get one in later in the week sharing some of the new products heading our way the first week of November. Until then, we gotta keep trucking, and I hope you keep crafting, keep stamping, and God Bless!
