While I’m away visiting relatives in California, I wanted to share an easy activity night on my calendar during October. A couple of years ago a group of ladies formed a Mom Co chapter for young mothers in our community. We started off with just one group meeting during the morning, but interest grew and last year they added a second group for evening.
I was asked to be a Mentor Mom, and although I keep pretty busy with Stampin’ Up and church, I felt it would be a good thing to give back to our community by filling the spot. The whole Mentor thing kind of threw me because an expert I’m not, but if by learning from my mistakes as a parent would be good, I was all for it!
I connected with ladies who were former babysitters of my kids, moms who I had as students, and moms going through some very difficult times as a parent. This is a wonderful organization to help our young moms connect with others, to share troubles and experiences to support and lift each other up, and to create friendships. As much as I enjoyed the group, I felt it best to step back due to Pool Boy’s health issues at the time. But last year I sponsored a Christmas Tag night for moms, and this year we are making Christmas Cards!

I turned to our quick and easy products since the night of the activity I will not be able to attend in person. The prepackaged cards/envelopes, the mix and match and tag kits make for quick, stress free crafting, and are perfect for groups such as this!
Each participant will receive:
- 1/2 package of the Creative Celebrations DSP with punched out pieces
- 1 package of the Festive Flecks Card Bases and Envelopes
- 1/2 package of the Happiest Season Tags Mix and Match Ephemera Pack
- 1/2 package of the Season Of Celebration Mix and Match Ephemera Pack
I will precut some of the 6×6 DSP patterns for mats to be used at the activity night, and a couple of the cards will need additional circle punches. I’ll send a couple of verses to be stamped inside the cards, but otherwise there’s nothing more for me to do once the packages are split into halves.
This would be a fun night to gather with friends, maybe bring some wine or sodas, some simple snacks, and simply enjoy crafting together. But the best part – helping a community group grow closer by networking and supporting others in the challenges of motherhood.
Until next time, have a great day, and God Bless!
