No matter how hard I try NOT to be, I find I am a creature of habit in what I like, what I wear, what I gravitate to. Are you one as well?? I love to go into Vera Bradley outlet stores and shop, but it is a rarity for me to come out with some patterned, floral bags. If I do come out with a floral, patterned bag EVERYTHING else I purchased will be in the same pattern, because I want things to match!!!
Usually, I will turn to a bag that is either solid black or a black/white combination. Same goes with my 31 bags – if I bought them they are going to be black and white!!! Then everything goes together!
Loveliest Tree – Perfect For A Monochromatic Card!
If you have followed me for just a little bit you will know I enjoy monochromatic cards. They are easy to design, they are easy to duplicate, one color plays nicely with white or very vanilla – just my thing when it comes to paper crafting! And Stampin’ Up makes it so easy with all of the DSP coordinating with our color collection. It’s an easy way to create a card because everything goes together.
I also find I tend to gravitate towards certain colors, and certain DSP’s as well. I can tell that the designer series paper Country Woods is going to be one of my favorites. When it comes to color, I design with the neutrals and regals the most. I love our neutral palette with the variety of shades that makes designing easy. Take one of our neutrals, contrast with one other color for pop – perfect combo MOST of the time!
I also tend to design with fun folds which add interest and variety to our crafting. I love my mats with the 1/8 edges and the more the layers, the better the card! I rarely add a greeting to the inside of my cards so that they are not limited to use. A “thinking of you” card could be birthday, get well, sympathy….. Got the idea???
Final Thoughts…..
So what’s your crafting habits??? Do you find yourself using more subtle or bright colors??? Do you love to mix colors up and have lots of colors on your cards??? Do you find yourself making mostly horizontal cards than vertical???? Are you the crafter that makes multiples of the very same card, or the person who prefers to do one or two, then move on to another design????
I’ll be back tomorrow with another project, some info for the upcoming holiday weekend, and some Stampin’ Up news. Until then, I hope you have a great day, that you find time to do what ever makes you happy, think about your crafting habits – what describes your projects the best – and God Bless!!!
