Friday night we were hit with a “family tornado” when our daughter’s family arrived. They blew in around 9:30 pm and they blew out of town 48 hours later and it was such a joy to have them here. Saturday morning bright and early our son arrived with his family, then our niece from Kansas City, and the morning was spent shooting photos of Baby Cal, along with Nora and Fi. Very casual although staged and I’m relatively sure Fi had mustard on her check – or might be yellow marker! – but it’s life! That afternoon was spent rocking Cal and both girls in our recliners watching a movie and the parents enjoyed quiet time catching up on much needed sleep. After a delicious meal prepared by Pool Boy Papa Jim – BBQ chicken, grilled asparagus, green rice, and baked pineapple, – the parents had a game night while the kids were on their tablets, and it was so wonderful having everyone together.
Don’t get me wrong – I had to escape from the noise and clutter a couple of times and hide for a few minutes!!! LOL!!! I put blinders on to the messy chaos and had to resist the urge to pick up constantly, but those 48 hours were wonderful. After returning home from church the house had been relatively picked up, laundry had been started, and all was quiet and peaceful.
And we missed them. Never quite enough time together and it goes too fast, but that’s also life.
The Diamond Fun Fold Card!
We are going to get multiple use out of this fun fold today! I used it as my card on this morning’s FB LIVE, it will be part of a display at the coming retreat, AND it will be a card I use with my Techniques Class this week! How’s that for getting my crafting miles from this one project??
This card can also have a pop up mechanism added to the back of the large diamond mats to add more variety. I chose to skip that because it involves chopping off the left point of the diamond and I didn’t care for that look. Personal preference!

Final Thoughts….
