Good morning everyone! We made our whirlwind trip yesterday celebrating two awesome lives – the 90th birthday of Jim’s mom and the passing of our friend Aaron. Elda had her two favorite people with her – Jim and his sister Teri – for dinner and since that only happens a couple of times a year I know it made her day. She enjoyed her beautiful floral arrangement for inside her home, her beautiful basket of mums for her front door, and Teri will treat her to several days of wonderful meals while she is visiting.
I challenged my team members – The Stamp ‘n Sip Gals – to create a monochromatic sympathy card for our next gathering. Stampin’ Up’s color palette makes it SO EASY to select shades that are complimentary yet in the same family such as the greens I used above – Evening Evergreen and also Soft Succulent. BOTH GREENS but they work so well together, don’t you think??
A Close Up View Using Wink Of Stella!
Using Soft Succulent, I stamped off the floral background image, then stamped on the greeting mat. The greeting was stamped in Evening Evergreen, and for a final touch I added Wink Of Stella to the stamped background image – can you see the shimmer in the photo above? To add texture to the card I embossed the DSP mat with one of our beautiful folders. Which one did I used? The Painted Texture 3D is on my table right now, so that’s what I grabbed! I’m bad about using what’s close to hand!
