Good morning and welcome to Easter weekend!!! We are having a quiet one at our home, since Megan and the girls were here a couple of weeks ago. We had the annual Easter egg hunt then and Cal experienced his first one. He was all about the first egg, then after that he could care less. Since then he’s had another Easter egg hunt so you can tell by the pictures he’s got the idea what to do!
Crafting After Midnight!
I had one of those “can’t sleep nights” so before 1 am I gave up and took off for my craft room. This card had been playing in my mind, so craft I did. I prefer to make cards with the 8.5 x 5.5 inch measurement for card stock, but this one uses the 4.25 x 11 measurement instead.
I turned to the new stamp set Spotlight On Nature and the coordinating dies to create this beautiful card. Black pairs with so many colors, and this time I chose to use the Petunia Pop from the new 2024-26 In Color collection. The DSP came from the Rock and Roll DSP found in the Jan-April mini catalog. For coloring the flowers I used Bubble Bath AND Petunia Pop, along with Lost Lagoon to add the finishing touch. Embellishments are the new In Color ribbon as well as the coordinating Shimmer gems, and voila! Not bad for being in the middle of the night without my glasses on!!!
Final Thoughts…..
Pool Boy and our son Evan – otherwise known as Sonshine – decided it was a perfect morning to try their hand at fishing. Elda and I are heading to downtown Macon later this morning after I’ve got my dishes for tomorrow made. My part is peanut butter sheet cake, a Strawberry and Cream trifle, and it can’t be Easter without Watergate Salad from the 70’s. Whatever would we do if Jello decided to retire the instant pistachio pudding that I only purchase once a year????? Pool Boy will don his chef’s hat later today to prepare the remainder of the holiday feast.
Until Monday, have a Blessed Easter Sunday and God Bless!
