Today is a BUSY day with a card class late this afternoon to pack for and company arriving this evening. Jim has already taken off to pick up his mom and bring her to visit with the grands and the greats. Megan and the girls will arrive later this evening, and Evan and family will be over as well so yes, a full house! The craftroom has already changed over to the girls’ room so I simply have to make it through the card class later today and I can enjoy the company as well.
Let’s Continue With Our Texture Theme!
Today’s card uses 2 techniques that have been around for a while but are still goodies!!!! First, I punched a circle out of a mat using the 2 3/8 circle punch in the current annual catalog, then ever so lightly added a circle of Boho Blue ink with the blending brushes by laying my mat with the circle over the card front mat. I used the Simply Scored tool to add double embossed lines to all sides of the card. Since I wanted the lines to raised on the front, I turned the mat OVER and scored the back.
One stamp set, one ink, one punch, one scoring tool – done! Very simple, very understated, but very elegant as well. I find I need so many sympathy cards in this time of our life. My Mom and Dad always said that their social calendar was filled with dr. appts and visitations! LOL
Final Thoughts…
Pool Boy and I were invited over to Evan’s and Rachel’s house for dinner last night – this is twice in four days!! We are so enjoying having our youngest grandchild here in our hometown. At least once a week we head over for a “baby Cal fix” because he is changing so fast, and it’s much easier for his parents if we go there versus bringing him over to our house. He has found his toes and he is discovering his voice because gosh can he squeal! And when we look at him, we see Ev as our baby all those years ago.
Our social calendar is filled with grandchildren activities, and we are LOVING it! Have a great day, find some time to craft, and God Bless!
