I find I’m a creature of habit when it comes to colors in Stampin’ Up’s array of shades. I have certain colors that I just turn to – Night of Navy, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, Flirty Flamingo, and Smoky Slate are ones I love. RARELY do I turn to Crumb Cake and Soft Suede, and less than 20% of my paper crafting involves Very Vanilla. Are you the same? Maybe you head to Subtle shades such as Petal Pink or Balmy Blue. Or, the Brights collection draws your eye with Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point. Whatever you prefer, Stampin’ Up has a shade you will love!
Since I had used the Delicate Desert DSP yesterday, I decided to continue by turning to those beautiful Calypso Coral patterns. I used Soft Suede to add detail to the DSP with the stamped branch, and then came back and added Calypso Coral and Soft Suede splotches – one of those stamps I love to see included in a stamp set! – over all of the DSP. I even stamped those splotches on a scrap that I had to dig out of the trash can just so I could have speckled eggs in the nest!
To add depth to the nest, Stampin’ Up has two dies that work together to create that full, detailed nest. I stamped the bird with Soft Suede, and then used the Soft Suede and Calypso Coral blends to add the rich color. A few champagne rhinestones scattered across the scalloped contour label, and I loved the final product!
I could have added a second label from the scalloped contours dies for the inside mat, but I wanted my stamped branches to show. By moving the Very Vanilla mat to the left, all of those beautiful coral shades could also shine through. Delicate Desert is a BEAUTIFUL package of paper. Be sure to check it out!!!
I’ll be back throughout the week with more projects. I did a long crafting session this morning so that all I have to do is hook up to the hotel internet and post as we travel. In fact, I spent longer crafting today than packing! FYI – all of our shirts have KC, Chiefs, arrowheads, or Patrick Mahomes on the front.
