Bugs On Parade Diorama!!!

It’s surprising how quickly this week has gone by. Seems like it was just the weekend a couple of days ago, and here we are ready for another one! Thursday was a dreary day with rain and gray skies – perfect for reading a book and taking a nap. Our son’s birthday is this weekend so we will celebrate with him and his family, and next week is loaded – two stamping events, a dinner with good friends, and Cal’s 3rd birthday party. Megan and the girls are planning to attend so we can celebrate with the whole family.

So today’s card is one for Calvin since he loves nature and bugs. I wanted something a bit more sturdy, cause little fingers can make quick work destroying paper projects! I shared this as a FB Live on our group page Stamp. Ink. Paper – Creating With Pam and Lola earlier this week. Pam has a granddaughter just a month older than Cal so she put a card together for her as well.

So how do you make those bugs a bit more sturdy???? We used Scotch 2 inch wide clear packing tape!!!! Cut your bugs out of the DSP, then add a strip of the packing tape over the image. Your die cutting machine will go right thru it, AND the edges are sealed from the cutting blade of the die!!! Quick and oh so easy!!! And they have a shiny appearance like the ladybugs as well!!!

The card base begins with a piece of Mossy Meadow 11 by 4.25 inches, then with scoring the folded card measures a 4.25 inch square. It will mail in a regular size envelope, or you can tuck into a cellophane envelope and fold the tab down to the size of the card for hand delivery.

I included a white mat on the back of the card base for the written message. We have had lots of fun creating with this fun DSP, and I’m pretty sure I’ll continue next week with a few more projects. Maybe not bugs, but ways to use the DSP other than for kid’s cards. This package has lots of possibilities, so let’s touch on other ways to use this gem.
