When you are sitting in a condo miles from home you are limited to what you can and can’t do. I tried to pack for multiple projects and to have things for posting, but never thought about packing batteries for the wireless mouse and my backgrounds for photography. Dang mouse decided to quit and I hate using the laptop pad! Lights are too bright in certain locations in the condo, other areas not bright enough! BUT we push through and do the best we can, right?!?! Currently our dining room table has a paper pumpkin box, 300+ pictures I’m cropping for the granddaughters’ Disney scrapbooks, AND my farm counting book just about ready for next week’s classes. We’ve had a great week of weather, beach time, delicious seafood and today included shoe shopping. We can NEVER have enough shoes, right??? AND I’ve read over 1/2 of my JD Robb book! This is a productive vacation!
Seeing Our Array Of Blue Shades In Our Classic Core Color Collection!
Ok, how can you not love the blue shades coming with the Color Refresh??? Balmy Blue has never been a favorite shade of mine but got to say I used several packages when I got hold of the Country Floral Gingham DSP that was in the Jan/April Mini Catalog. Night Of Navy is a solid staple for me that I turn to lots and I was thrilled when it became a member of the Neutral Color Collection!!! That move opened up a spot in the Regals for other shades. But there is a wide difference between Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, agreed??? When Blueberry Bushel and Misty Moonlight were In Colors several years ago I was always reaching for them, and even kept my ink pads and cardstock to use after they retired. As for Azure Afternoon, it’s beautiful!!!! Not as bright and in your face as Pacific Point, and I think it works well with all of our blues except maybe Balmy Blue. This is a great collection of color. Well done, Stampin’ Up!
Getting A Close Up Of Our Brown Tones – With Two More I Threw In!
Earlier in the week I shared the Pinks in our Core Colors, but I simply could not put Petal Pink in that group. I’ve always thought Petal Pink was more peachy, and I pair it with Cajun Craze. So, guess what? I put those shades in with the Browns! Can’t you see these colors working together in a monochromatic card of brown tones????? Crumb Cake is another tone I rarely use but I did like Soft Suede. I hated to see it go, but once I got my hands on Pecan Pie, I forgot about Soft Suede! Without comparing them side by side they may seem the same, but Pecan Pie is a brighter color and let’s face it, Pecan Pie sounds tastier than Soft Suede. LOL!!! My Early Espresso is so dark it almost looks Black compared with everything else on the chart but it IS Early Espresso, I double checked!
Final Thoughts…..
So, that leaves me with the purple, red, and yellow tones in our Core Color Colection. Since nothing really changed in our Red family I saw no need to experiment but I’ll be back tomorrow with the purples, and MAYBE the yellows – if I can unearth the paper in my craft stuff!! Keep in mind, I did not incorporate the In Colors in this parade of color seeing how they come and go. Until tomorrow, have a great day and keep stamping and crafting!!! God’s Blessings!!!!
