We have had a very busy few days getting ready for Christmas with a Chiefs’ game thrown in, but the end is in sight! Christmas cards are addressed and mailed, all packages are wrapped and under the tree, we have churned out candies and cookies for neighbors and Christmas Eve with family, the chocolate butterscotch rice krispy treats were deemed a disaster and thrown into the trash, and Pool Boy has done as much prepping as possible for his corn chowder and his broccoli cheese soup for Christmas Eve.
We are down to the cranberry orange bars, the cheese ball, and a favorite dip for tomorrow evening, and a salad and potatoe dish for Christmas luncheon and we are ready!!! Reindeer games are planned out for Christmas Eve, and the only big thing left is to head to church early tomorrow evening to rehearse with Megan. Her dad asked a couple of years ago for her to sing “O Holy Night” and last year she had no voice, so hoping she will be able to grant her father’s wish tomorrow night. As one of our church members said a while back ” it’s not quite Christmas until Megan sings”.
As we come closer to Christmas Eve and the celebration of our Savior’s birth, we just want to wish each of you a very Blessed Christmas. We can get so wrapped up in all of the Christmas preparation – me included – with the rush of decorating, present buying and wrapping, and the whole commercialism of Christmas that we forget the greatest gift ever given arrived quietly in the night with just animals and a few visitors to to celbrate His birth. No preparation really needed except a manger, a stable, and some swaddling cloths.
May you and your famiy enjoy the true meaning of Christmas and may joy come to the world as we celebrate our Savior and Lord.
God Bless you!
