Christmas Blessings With The Rejoice Stamp Set!

Pool Boy and I decided to get a head start on the upcoming – and final – Christmas Card class this year. (That basically translates into I decided, and he started die cutting.) We purchased an electric Big Shot Switch Plus earlier this year and he goes to town using it, and I’ve tried it 3-5 times and would much rather have the hand cranking die cutting machine. That’s kind of how it works with us. I was given an Instant Pot several years ago, and have no idea how to work it. He makes delicious meals using it in a fraction of the time traditional cooking would take, and other than plugging it in and turning on the power button I’ve no clue how to fix anything in it.

Same with the air fryer/oven he purchased a while back. He has no problem working it and do you think I can fix toast or a bagel with it? Not really! Just give me a regular toaster please!!! Too many features for me to worry about! But that’s ok. He has no idea how to use the washing tower in the laundry room, nor has the patience dealing with all of the computer issues. We both have our strengths and depend on the other one to pull us through our weaknesses.

That being said, although he DOES know a few names of Stampin’ Up! colors (Night Of Navy is his go to when asked), he has no idea how I create or stamp my cards and projects!

With this being our final Christmas card class for 2026, I was determined to NOT order anymore Christmas DSP this month, but try to design using what I have on hand. The stamp set Rejoice is one of my favorite products for Stampin’ Up!’s product offerings. Since I’m trying to use some of the Winter Dreams DSP I still have on hand as well, that automatically determined I would be using Secret Sea and Basic White for my color combination. This stamp set has such beautiful detail with the shading incorporated in the stamps. And I love the tiny but powerful greeting below the Nativity scene.

For my squares I could have simply cut card stock, but instead I turned to the Tile Garden dies. These should be on everyone’s wish list if you’ve yet to own them! I always suggest purchasing any basic shape – even if you don’t purchase the corresponding stamp set as a bundle – because you can use those basic shape dies with every stamp set you own, and every card you create. Cutting card stock squares might have been easier, and certainly faster for Pool Boy and his electric die cutting machine, but the dies add such a touch of elegance and detail to the card. And when in doubt what gem to use for embellishment, basic rhinestone gems are always a winner in my book.

Final Thoughts…..

There’s one more thing I’ve no idea how to use – it’s his large screen smart TV we purchased this summer. I could somewhat work the older smart TV, but this new thing has different buttons and remotes, and he has to talk me through turning it on. Since I’m not a big TV watcher anyways it’s not a problem. Give me my phone and kindle and I’m happy. And he’s happy working the remote.

Again, use your strengths when you can, and depend on each other to pull us through our weaknesses. Works for us!!!
