A busy week it’s been, but we are slowly knocking things off the list!!! My two classes this week are over and finished, we are stuffing mystery boxes this morning, and working on the Coats For Kids project that I hope to roll out Thursday. Add in our church’s Thanksgiving dinner tonight along with services, 4 more Christmas trees to put up, our team meeting, AND a travel day to Kansas City Friday, all should be done and ready for the arrival of the family for an early Thanksgiving dinner this weekend, right???? I can hear my mom now saying “Lola, you’re burning the candle at both ends!!! SLOW DOWN!!” LOL.
Pool Boy and I are looking forward to next week since we will have Thanksgiving over and done BEFORE the actual holiday and we’ve nothing planned. NO classes, NO family coming in, NO big meal to prepare. The only thing on the calendar is going to KC on Monday for the Chiefs/Eagles game, otherwise we are footloose and fancy free for a few days.
And I’ll be bored! LOL!!!
Last Night’s Tag Class!!
I love making Christmas tags, but you have to be careful because they can become LOTS of work for such a small thing! These are the tags we made last night, and you can see each of them involved several die cuts. If I were making tags for just myself – not a class – all of those little bits of DSP scraps, extra die cuts, packages of embellishments almost gone, string – I would throw into a paper pumpkin box. Before you know it, you have enough stuff to go to Tag Town and create. Don’t let those little pieces go in the trash!
And tags do NOT have to be made with tag punches!!! Notice the circle punched blue mittens tag and the Cherry Cobbler and Gold foil tag above?? Grab a hole punch and create a variety of tags from any diecuts and punches you have. You will find tags are some of the most fun things to design and create.
Final Thoughts….
So, while I’m boxing up mystery boxes and putting everything away from tag class, Pool Boy will be getting a head start on Thanksgiving preparation. Yesterday he was making homemade biscuits and today he’s mixing up cornbread to have on hand for dressing (or do you call it stuffing????) and his broccoli/cheese rice casserole for the church carry-in dinner tonight. And, I’m thinking ONE more tree will be going up tonight after we get home! Maybe!!
Until tomorrow, have a great day crafting, creating, and doing the things you love. Until tomorrow, God Bless!!!
