Good Morning Paper Crafters!!! I had a great day yesterday cleaning, sorting, and purging through my craft room and so far I have 3 trash bags and 3 boxes full to show for it! The new product boxes are slowly being emptied, beginning first with the In Color tools such as the ink pads, pens, refills, and blends. New files with the 5 new In Colors have been made, filled, and added to my files so we are slowly getting there. While I was working I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you today, and decided my post would coordinate with my CSP activities (CSP is short for Cleaning, Sorting, and Purging!) Experienced stampers may well know this, but even we can learn new tricks and when these new styled ink pads came out some incredible stamper – cause let’s face it , we ARE incredible! – discovered uses for labeling!
New Ink Pads To Prep!
Back in the fall I needed to use up product credits from Stampin’ Up so I decided to upgrade all of my ink pads to the new style. I have 2 complete sets of ink pads in my supplies so I have multiples to use in my in person classes. All of those ink pads were sitting and waiting for me to open and label, so that was part of yesterday’s plan of attack.
Most experienced stampers already know that Stampin’ Up ink pads come with labels on the back so you can mark the end of your ink pads and store flat, but did you know you have multiple labels? Since Stampin’ Up is an international company so their ink pads come with labels for not only English but French, Dutch, German, and for any ink pads before this year’s new In Colors, Japanese as well. During the past year the Japan market was closed, but those labels will still be there until the stock has to be updated. DON’T THROW THOSE LABELS AWAY!!!
Using ALL Of The Labels, Not Just English!
Those labels from other countries come in handy for adding to the front side edges as well as the back of the ink pad case! When hosting in person classes and using multiple ink pad colors, unfortunately stampers accidentally put the wrong stamp in the wrong ink, and there ain’t nothing worse than having a dark green ink blotch in the middle of a pale pink ink pad! Yuck! And let’s face it, we sometimes do the same thing when we have multiple stamps and ink pads open. Those little labels are great visuals for our stampers – and ourselves! – to help avoid those issues!
Then you have ONE LABEL WITH NO TITLE! ( And with the new In Color ink pads, there are 2 untitled labels due to the Japan market closing). That UNTITLED LABEL has a specific place! When your ink pad is opened, there is a small channel for that label to go in! That gives you 3 out of 4 sides marked with the color labels which hopefully will help you keep that dark green ink out of the pale pink! You have a 75% chance of keeping that ink pad clean!!!!! YES!!! Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner – hopefully!
Our ink pads should be stored flat so many of us have purchased units from Stamp n Storage that were created specifically for Stampin’ Up products, and now Stampin’ Up has their own storage units as well. But without that little label on the end it’s difficult to put your hands on the needed color. I decided this morning to take a close up photo of the unit showing the labels and what did I find – I MISSED AN INK PAD that’s been in use for a while!!!
I’m off to get ready for church, but not until I get that ink pad labeled. My OCD can not handle that!!! Have a great day stamping, creating and crafting, and God Bless!!!
Get those ink pads labeled!!!
