Good morning and Hello Wednesday!!!! This is one of those laid-back weeks where we are between classes, between family/friend commitments, and kind of in cruisin’ mode and I like it!!! I’m using this time to finish up some projects I’ve got going and crossing things off my list. THAT is a good feeling.
We are continuing with my goal for the week of creating Patriotic cards without any patriotic stamp sets! I shared with you how I keep a catalog on my desk so I can always check what’s available to use while I’m thinking “outside the box” to use product in different ways. This is key for me so that I am constantly looking and remembering what is current with Stampin’ Up. And that catalog is loaded with examples of cards and projects that can also used for ideas. Do you use your catalog in this way? As a resource besides just when placing an order???
Today’s Card Uses A CLEARANCE ITEM!!! Love This Embossing Folder!
The star of the show is the Star Crossed Embossing Folder (item # 156567) found in the CLEARANCE RACK for $4.50!!! This folder is perfect for Patriotic themed cards, and was the starting point for today’s card. I wanted to add stripes like our flag to the front of the card, so by piecing the front mat together BEFORE embossing I was able create just that! And as for the Decorative Circle Punch I used behind my greeting, that is one of my favorite punches right now!!! Do you have it yet???
So I was needing some stamp that was a “filler”. I looked at the splatters of Color and Contour, BUT when I saw the “filler” stamp in Lighting The Way I knew that was the one!!! Isn’t it perfect for a little added color????
Last Night’s FB LIVE On Our Group Page!
I shared how I went about creating the striped mat before embossing on our private group page last night. If you want to see how easy it is, click on the link below and request to join us. There is always room for another papercrafting friend! ALSO, the card below is the Father’s Day card Pam shared as well. She saw a cute milkshake card by Lisa Curcio and decided to recreate as a Father’s Day card instead. Pam’s measurements for this card can also be found on our group page so be sure to click and join us!

Final Thoughts…
I hope you are seeing possibilities of Patriotic themed cards this week, and if nothing else I hope you will go back to your catalog and supplies to see how you can use items by “thinking outside the box”. Or maybe that should be “PAPERCRAFTING outside the box”!!! I’ll be back tomorrow to share another fun design, but until then, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!!!
