Greetings from windy and rainy Destin! Today is going to be a shopping day since the weather isn’t the best. Pool Boy said the beach ferry was closed today due to high winds but that’s ok – our friends Kim and Mark arrived last night and we have lots of catching up to do.
We knew for sure Kim was coming, but Mark as a contractor wasn’t sure he was going to get his jobs all aligned. She text mid day that Mark couldn’t get away. When she arrived I met her outside the lobby and hopped in her Tahoe since she needed key and parking pass access to use the parking garage. So – think 5 min. or more I’m in the car talking with her – she parks the car and we go around to the hatch and start pulling out her suitcases. I’m leaning into the back of the Tahoe grabbing a bag and UP POPS Mark from the back seat!!!! I can not with a clear conscience write what I screamed and shouted, but you can only imagine how colorful and LOUD it was in a parking garage!! Let’s just say I’m thankful I ran to the bathroom before running down to meet her!
Complimentary Color Combos With The Color Wheel!
Today’s card is created using the complimentary colors found on the color wheel. The old saying “opposite attracts” works in color theory as well! These colors are just that – opposite on the wheel. Think of navy with an orange or coral combo – that has always been one of my favorites. Today’s colors are Pretty In Pink and Summer Splash and one of the patterns from the 2024-26 In Colors. I’ve never offered the Color Collection 6×6 DSP packs because I’ve not cared for the patterns, BUT THIS YEAR’S patterns are great! The stamped images came from the new stamp set Thoughtful Wishes, and I colored the images with the same color blends as the card stock.
Notice the texture I added to the Pretty In Pink panel behind the white label???? I didn’t bring my cut and emboss machine, but wanted some texture for dimension and depth. I simply took my cutting/scoring tool and scored every 1/4 inch one direction, then gave it a quarter turn and scored the other direction every 1/2 inch. I used the reverse side of the panel to get my texture! Where there’s a will, there’s a way!!!
FYI – here is a little tip if you travel with crafting tools! Make SURE your paper cutter has a good blade, cause this one is the pits!!! I rarely use my paper cutting tool since I prefer the old fashion guillotine cutter like we had at school, so this is probably the original blade from my first year of paper crafting!!! Please forgive me for the rough edges in the pic above.
Paper Shares Opening Today Or Tomorrow!
My web designer has been sick, so we are simply playing text tag back and forth, but she thinks we are about good to go live with the paper share.
The prices for the shares are higher BUT NOT due to price increases!!! It’s due to an increase in DSP packages. There are 15 NEW DSP’s and Specialty Papers available in the catalog and this does NOT INCLUDE any of the DSP’s returning from last year. I have an option for the DSP’s only, for the Color Collection DSP 6×6 packs, the ribbons, or everything so be sure to check out the options.
Final Thoughts….
Since the beach is off limits today and weather is rolling in, we are heading to the malls for some shopping. The guys are looking at charter fishing trips for Friday, so who knows what will evolve! Until tomorrow, have a great day, enjoy doing what ever you love, and God Bless!!!
