A majority of us have favorite color combos we love – whether it is home decor, our taste of apparel, even purchasing new cars!!! We just find ourselves leaning towards colors! In paper crafting, it’s no different! There are combinations of color that we enjoy creating with. As an example, black and white pairs wonderfully with a touch of rich pink, yellow, or purple. Remember when the color favorites were brown and pink????? In fall we lean towards rich tones of browns, oranges, yellows, and rusts. It’s human nature to prefer certain color combinations over others. One of my favorite is coral and navy so today’s card features those two colors with Calypso Coral and Night Of Navy!!!
Punches Are Still A Favorite Over Dies!

Don’t get me wrong! I also love my dies and the intricate die cuts they create, but when I’m designing for a class I keep in mind what’s involved with the prep. Punches allow me the flexibility of ease and speed so my stampers can easily create these cards without having to use the die cut machines. It would take lots of prep work ahead of time as well as during the class to have 4 cards with multiple die cuts needed – we would have a traffic jam at the die cut machine table! Punches are relatively easy, fast, and affordable. The flowers in the card above stamp and punch as one unit, but it’s possible to use the punch by itself to create quick flowers layered on top of each other without the stamped image. The stamp set is not absolutely necessary!!!
Color Refresh Is Heading Our Way!!!

Stampin’ Up has announced that a Color Refresh is coming with the release of the New Annual Catalog. This will include more than the 5 retiring In Colors leaving and the announcement of the 2023-2025 In Colors reveal. Check out the message we received from Stampin’ Up about this upcoming change:
We’re all about creativity and sharing what we love with those we love. And that means providing a compelling selection of high-quality craft supplies in coordinating colors and designs. We’re always working to not only meet trends but set them. That means evaluating and even refreshing our current products—and this year we’re refreshing our complete color collection!
You’ll find some new friends and returning favorites among our Brights, Neutrals, Regals, and Subtles. And you won’t want to miss our new 2023–2025 In Colors. We hope you’re as excited as we are to start crafting with these fresh new colors and to share them with your customers and fellow crafting enthusiasts.”
Final Thoughts…
So which colors do you see leaving our Color Collections????? I think we will see the end of Calypso Coral, Shaded Spruce, and Blushing Bride. We NEED a soft pretty pink for sure! When a Color Refresh happens this can involve NEW colors as well as RETIRED In Colors, so most of us are aware that Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon are returning. I would be willing to give up Mint Macaron if we could keep Soft Succulent!!!! What are your thoughts regarding the color refresh?? Post in the comments below. I’ll be back tomorrow to share a service project we just completed using our kit line so until then, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!
