Without a doubt, my favorite time of the year is the Christmas Season. I love the beauty of the decorations, the anticipation of the holidays with friends and family, the festive music – how can you expect less from a former music teacher? And of course, one of the busiest times of the year for a music teacher is the CHRISTMAS SEASON! I would wear myself out preparing for concerts and elementary programs throughout the month of December and then it was off for a frantic day of shopping and late nights wrapping packages until we could sit back and breathe. I am lucky that my husband Jim – aka Pool Boy – doesn’t mind wrapping so I write the tags and keep the gifts flowing in an assembly line to the Christmas tree.
But I’m determined to slow down and enjoy the Christmas Season this year being retired. That means I am starting my Christmas cards early in July so that’s one thing I’m not stressing over come December! Little gifts I love to make and share with neighbors and friends can be made ahead so they don’t become last minute or pushed aside, and I can focus more on the meaning and enjoyment of the Christmas Season.

Getting A Head Start On The Holidays!
I know that come December 15 I’ll still be frantically shopping, wrapping, and finishing up the details for celebrating Christmas, but hopefully starting 6 months early some of the stress will be less! Consider making this little treat box and filling it with tags, or maybe little chocolates and a gift card, or even making a few for Halloween to treat your neighborhood children! How cute would that box look with the witch’s hat punched out and decorating the front of the box????? Until next time, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless! Get a start on the holiday season!!!!!
