Today’s post will be short and sweet as we begin our journey for the week. A friend of mine commented last night at Stamp ‘n Sip in just a week we will have been ALMOST across the United States – from Orlando to Phoenix. Thankfully a plane helped us with that first leg!
I’ve commented before how I’m a list person. I keep a running list of activities and things to do and I take warped pleasure in marking them off that list, only to add one or two more in it’s place! Back in mid January when we hosted Stampin’ Up Bingo we had a collection for our local food pantry, with a goal of a minimum 150 items. Stampers received an entry for every item they brought, then these entries were used to raffle a brand new bundle from our Stampin’ Catalog. The following two Sunday’s our church also contributed, so today we counted and displayed our collection for a photo. Afterwards, we delivered OVER 300 ITEMS to the Macon County Ministries Food Pantry!!!
Everyone was so generous in their giving we DOUBLED our goal!!! Such an easy thing to do and to incorporate with our Stampin’ Up Bingo night. This is the second time we have offered the opportunity when participating at a Stampin’ Up event, and it will become a regular one!
With that collection, our local food pantry qualified for additional funds through Thrivent, a financial services organization that is connected with the Lutheran Church. With our collection of over 150 items, Thrivent will send Macon County Ministries an additional check of $150 to use as needed. A double win for a wonderful cause, and a simple, easy thing to do!
Food Pantry items counted, delivered, and reported to Thrivent – CHECK!! Until next time, keep stamping, keep crafting, and God Bless!
