It’s hard to believe that we are over half way through our trip. There are so many things to do here at this resort, but the majority of our friends are like us – looking for a relaxed, low key vacation. We have our adventure activity today – as long as we don’t cancel. It’s smack dab in the middle of the day at 1 pm and involves some travelling to and from, so most of the day will be shot. Our last large group activity is tomorrow, then the return trip to the states is Saturday.
The Best Part Of These Trips? Connecting With Others!
Truly, the heading says it best – the opportunity to connect or reconnect with our stamping friends is the favorite part of any trip or event! It’s the connections, the memories, the friendships that grow from seeing each other in person. So today, I’m just going to post a few pictures of our day visiting and connecting!
We No Talk About Brrrruno!! (Sorry, Couldn’t Resist!)
It’s amazing the connecting you can do gathered around the pool! We visited with Kylie Bertucci from Australia. Laura Anderson and Kylie’s husband Bruno joined us here are well. We had a long chat with our founder Shelli Gardner as well, then along comes our CEO Sara and her husband Shawn. Sorry – no photo op here ’cause I didn’t want to appear like a star-struck fan! But let me just say, they are the most down to earth, friendly people you could meet!
Our first night here we had dinner with Julie Davison and her husband Jim, and Rachel Tessman and her son Nick. Nick’s graduating from high school soon, so this was his senior trip with mom. I also took a picture of Rachel waving and sent it to Johnna Bixenman Clarke who loves following Rachel’s blog.
Then you get the gang we gather with for dinner – Karin Braxton and her three sisters Karla, Kris, and Kara, Joey Hartman and her husband Steve, and last night Brenda Quintana joined us. The night before Anna Helman was part of the group. Dinner was almost 3 hours long, and we laughed, visited, and enjoyed the authentic Mexican cuisine. Hard to see but Karin (in the center front of the photo) is holding up a bowl of deep fried ants to add crunch to the quacomole! I had my token ant so I could say I tried one. Pool Boy said it was a hen party with one rooster. When I told him Steve left early, Pool Boy said Steve was one smart chicken!
I participate in trainings under Ronda Wade’s Creating Success group and have for over 5 years, so there’s always a time set aside for a group photo of those attending trips and events. These ladies range from million dollar sales achievers to ones fresh out of the gate wanting to learn about ways to run a business. No matter the achievements or levels, all are accepted and cheered on when it comes to celebrations big or little.
So we wrap up today’s post with this cute photo of Joey enjoying the whipped cream on a donut! Photos like these add to the memories as well, and I’m so thankful to have them to share with you. By the way – the whipping cream was excellent!
Pool Boy is now in Gettis, South Dakota – or I believe that’s the town he’s at!! They had an uneventful drive yesterday, then the fishing begins today. He has been warned to share pictures with me, so I can in turn share them with you! Here is hoping they have some great times “networking” and reconnecting with friends there as well! He’s with Mike Primrose (my brother from another mother), and Jim’s highschool friend Keith Stoneking. Until tomorrow, I hope you add some memories today of reconnecting with friends, find some time to create, and God Bless!!
